2026 Interstate Team Selection is here

February 11, 2026

Whether you’re aiming for state representation or looking to improve your game by competing against top players, Bridge NSW invites players from across the state to participate in the 2026 Interstate Team Selection (ITS).

Four representative teams – Open, Women’s, Seniors and Youth – will be selected to compete at the Australian National Championships, to be held in Canberra from 4–10 July.

Test yourself against the best

The ITS is about more than just state representation. The event also provides a valuable opportunity for players eager to improve their game. The selection process gives players the chance to test their skills in a high-level competitive environment and learn by competing against NSW’s leading players.

Regardless of the final selection outcome, participation in the ITS offers meaningful experience that can help players sharpen their game and prepare for future representative and championship events.

Open to all!

The 2026 Open Interstate Team Selection qualifying round will be conducted online, enabling all players from regional and metropolitan areas alike to participate on equal terms, without the need to travel. Online events are one way Bridge NSW is listening to club feedback on regional participation and part of our ongoing commitment to improving inclusivity and accessibility for all players and clubs.

Non-contending, interstate and international pairs are welcome to play in the qualifying round, provide both players are members of a club affiliated with Bridge NSW.

All pairs are welcome to enter for the Open Team, while the three other categories are special events for players meeting the entry criteria to play in either the women’s, seniors’ or youth team.
