With my background as a bridge player and experience with the management of a Bridge Club, I’m confident in my ability to contribute effectively to the team.

Full Statement
Retired Health Services Manager
Intermediate Bridge Player with 40 years’ experience
Current Commercial Club Albury Bridge Club member
Current “D” Grade Director
Past President Commercial Club Albury Bridge Club
This nomination is based on my experience, as a player and President, with the development of bridge skills and the advancement of playing and enjoyment of bridge. As President, I have championed and developed the successful expansion of infrastructure services within our Club, including the Club Website, a new up to date scoring system as well as a Financial Recording and Reporting system – these enhancements have revolutionised the day to day running of our club.
An important aspect of my nomination is to highlight the isolation and lack of resources for our Regional Clubs. Development of Director training and support, education resources as well as Interclub communication and events would enable a wider platform which would assist Regional members with access to other clubs and players. This would support our developing players with their bridge journey.

John McIlrath
- Current Chair, Directing Committee. Life member of North Shore Bridge Club. Have been a National Director for over 25 years and would like to continue passing on the knowledge I have gained to our future directing personnel.
- The future of bridge NSW needs to continue to prosper, and I would like to still to there – being involved on that path.
- Bridge has attracted me for over 35 years and in that time have owned and managed Clubs, been involved in teaching and Directing and all aspects of Club administration.

Glenda Parmenter
- A member of the Armidale Bridge Club and a member of their management committee. I have served as Secretary and President of that club.
- I am a member of the Bridge NSW Board and Chair of the Bridge NSW Clubs and Community Committee and was extensively involved in the transition from the NSWBA to Bridge NSW.
- I enjoy working with the wide range of people involved in the bridge community. I am committed to ensuring the growth and development of that community and to supporting clubs of all types to reach their full potential.

Ted Popper
- I have been President of Easts Bridge Club since 2023, having previously held executive and committee positions for many years. Easts is a community based club run by volunteers with about 200 members and 2 professional directors
- I am keen to volunteer for Council to explore innovative ideas to market our wonderful game to a much wider audience and give guidance to constituent clubs
- Attracting younger players is another priority for all clubs and I hope to be able to make a contribution.

Robert Scott
- I learnt bridge at the Ballina Club after retiring, then moved back to Sydney and played at the Ku-ring-gai Club (becoming its President) now the Peninsula Club (Warriewood). I am now in my second term as President.
- I bring the skills of 40 years in senior executive roles (HR & Operations) at a large retail group. I can bring to the Council attributes of dayy-to-day operational decisions, managing people, strategy development and execution of strategy.
- Recently the Peninsula club was given notice to move out of our clubhouse in a northern beaches community centre after 22 years. The club’s strong push-back resulted in Council providing a temporary council owned site where we operate while a new community centre is being built. Careful negotiations ensured the temporary site was commercially viable for us and the building modified to our clubs operational needs. While commercial arrangements are not yet finalised, we believe we will return to a new purpose built clubhouse in late 2025 which will be our home for years to come. I was involved in all steps of this matter, and lead a small relocation team.
