Club Support Teams

We recognise that a greater proportion of our clubs are small and many have a shortage of members with the range of skills required to run club business efficiently. To provide some assistance the Clubs and Community Committee has established the Club Support Team. This is a grup of volunteers who can provide support to help clubs and their members acquire new skills and to feel confident with existing skills. For example, you may be a new Director who has a problem with Compscore or is unsure how to set up the movement. In such cases you can phone a friend for help.

The members of the Club Support Team are valued bridge community members who have skills they use successfully in their own clubs. They are not necessarily experts, but they in turn have backing from other members of the Bridge NSW community.

Below is a table of the current members of the team, their support skills and their phone numbers.  Team members have been assigned according to geographical region but this does not mean that they cannot be contacted by clubs outside that region.

Because of the problems of spam we don’t post personal email addresses on the Bridge NSW wbsite. You can contact the team by email at support@bridgensw.com.au and a member of the team who can help you will respond.

If you have club support skills and would like to join this valuable and growing team please contact the Chair of the Clubs and Community Committee, Glenda Parmenter – community@bridgensw.com.au or 0414 937 891.

Technology Support

This part of this page is to provide assistance to clubs on aspects of technology used for club management. In some cases these will just be links to existing support pages. We aren’t in a position to know all the areas of support you might require and have only included the technologies we know are being used today. Members of the Club Support Team may be able to assist you with specific issues.

Technology support for directing (Bridgemates, scoring programs, uploading results, etc) is available on the Directing Technical support page.

If there is something that you would expect to see on this page that is missing, or further details on the content already included, pleaselet us know by emailling office@bridgensw.com.au.

Club Management Software

MyABF

MyABF is already a multi-faceted platform that supports congress and other events publicity and registration, club session table fee payment, and club membership including annual renewal. The support page for MyABF provides access to request support as well as a series of frequently asked questions. At the top it also includes a link to the MyABF resources page on the ABF website. On this site there are links to pages for three audiences, each of which contains very well written manuals.

Pianola

Many clubs use Pianols for membership management and results. Unfortunately the Pianola website doesn’t see to have any dedicated support section. Pianola also provides websites but very few clubs in NSW use these.

bridgewebs.com/club

Bridgewebs is the most popular provider of websites for bridge clubs. The platform also provides membership modules. The Bridgewebs website provides comprehensive details but does not appear to have a designated support section.

Websites

bridgewebs.com/club websites

Bridgewebs appears to be the most popular provider of websites for bridge clubs.  The Bridgewebs website provides comprehensive details but does not appear to have a designated support section.

club.bridgeaustralia.org websites

The popular club.bridgeaustralia.org websites are developed by Altosoft, which is also the developer of Compscore. Support for both is available on the Altosoft website. The site has a small section on Resources which includes some help on Altsoft websites.

club.bridge-club.org websites

The webpage bridge-club.org contains both an Administration Manual and Support page among its top line items.

Facebook

Bridge NSW recommends all clubs have a Facebook page. For clubs without a website we think this is essential. Bridge NSW has published a Guide to Facebook Pages for clubs.

Gmail

Bridge NSW encourages clubs to use email addresses that remain the same irrespective changes of personnel on management committees. Gmail provides a free way of doing this as detailed in the Guide to Gmail for clubs.
