Online workshop for everyone

The “Overview of Compscore3” workshop is being held online on Tuesday 20 May from 6-7pm for anyone interested in joining. It is being offered by Bridge NSW’s Directing Committee free of charge.

The focus of the workshop is the use of Compscore3 for running and scoring club duplicate sessions. The Directing Committee will host the event.

To participate, please register on MyABF: https://www.myabf.com.au/events/congress/view/2691

In-person club workshops

Members of the Directing Committee travel across the state to run in-person and free directing workshops. They will be doing so again in June in Southern NSW at the following times and locations:

Workshops will cover movements, technology, simple laws, simulations, what happens when situations like Hesitations and Claims occur, and how to use the law book.

The workshop is free but the local club may choose to charge a hosting fee to cover food and refreshments.

Surrounding clubs within a 1.5 drive will be invited to participate to make the workshops diverse and worthwhile.

Register your interest to attend one of the in-person sessions by contacting the local club above.

Changes in qualifications

The online and in-person workshops coincide with some recent changes in Director qualifications.

Bridge NSW has changed Directing levels to D (Club), C (Congress) and B (State). For each level, there is a course that needs to be completed.

Assessment for the D level has changed to an online assessment, which must be completed annually to maintain qualification.

The Director Development page includes a list of upcoming workshops, such as the online workshop above which is the first of a series of workshops.

If you have specific topics you would like to see covered in these workshops, please email directing@bridgensw.com.au.
