Beginner material
Bridge NSW has developed this material, in collaboration with Bridge Victoria, to support all clubs in the state to give Beginner Lessons.
NSW clubs are recommended to contact education@bridgensw.com.au for support with running Beginner Lessons & for access to additional editable material.
Bridge NSW acknowledges the assistance and material provided by NZ Bridge and the Scottish Bridge Union in the preparation of the lessons.
How You Can Help
- We want to make the Self-guided pages and the Beginner and Improver material even better. If you have a suggestion or query, please do not hesitate to contact us
- Would you be willing to help maintain this website for Lessons or Teachers or both?

Beginner Lessons
In Beginner Lessons, teachers should attempt to: (Courtesy of NZ Bridge)
- Spark enthusiasm to continue learning rather than trying to cover everything
- Encourage camaraderie and socialisation, either before, during or after lessons if possible
- Provide enough information to participate fully in the game without overwhelming newbies
Teachers should read Teachers Options before starting the course.
Later clubs can use the the Supervised Sessions set hands, in Improver Material, to help beginners practice what they have learnt
