Plan a congress
The secret to successful congresses is planning. Planning your congress starts up to 18 months in advance when you choose the dates and venue and apply for the congress. The plan needs to cover all the details all the way up to when you’ve vacated the venue, submitted the masterpoints, and written up your congress report.
Bridge NSW has adapted the Organising a Congress in NSW guide that previously existed on the NSWBA website. The process of rewriting served as a good reminder of how technology is assisting bridge clubs, particularly MyABF for managing entries and table scoring devices (e.g. Bridgemates) and scoring software for managing and scoring sessions.
Anyone planning a congress is encouraged to read the guide
