Over 70% of the registered active bridge players in NSW have fewer than 100 masterpoints. The Under 100 Masterpoint Pairs Championship (or UHMP, for short) was established specifically to engage players with fewer than 100 masterpoints as at 1 September of the current year.
The UHMP is comprised of two independent stages. The first stage is a regular session at a participating clubs during the months of September, October, and November. Ask your club if they are participating and what session times they have chosen. The second stage is a Local Final hosted by local clubs during the last week of November. All Local Finals will play the same boards and the results will be matchpointed across the state.
Four masterpoint divisions will be considered for prizes:
- 0 to 9.99 MP
- 10 to 24.99 MP
- 25 to 49.99 MP
- 50 to 99.99 MP
Red masterpoints will be issued at level B4s. Masterpoints will be calculated and awarded separately within each masterpoint division.
Prizes will include free entry to Australian Restricted and/or Novice events (donated by the ABF), cash, certificates, and subscriptions to the online Novice Edition of the Australian Bridge magazine.
