Youth bridge
Bridge is one of the world’s most popular mind sports and is officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee. The competitive game is played by teams who communicate with each other using codes. Players are required to think creatively, visualise and problem solve.
But it is not all about competition. It’s about being a part of a community, making friends, and having fun!
Not just for the oldies
Bridge is often associated with older people, but many young people play. “Youth Bridge” refers to players under the age of 26. Young people play every Wednesday night at an event held in Sydney, but there are also 140 clubs across NSW which welcome young players.
Youth discounts
Players under 25 can obtain an ABF player number for free by joining the ABF Youth Bridge Club. They are also usually provided with half-price entry to congesses – these are events where players from many clubs get together to play).
Plenty of events are held across the state and country throughout the year.
Play for the state
Every year, Youth players face off for an opportunity to represent their state or country. State representatives travel to play against other states and territories, while Australian representatives get to travel the world!
